'Things in images are good; the goods must be displayed by images.' Taipei is being increasingly surrounded by some wired scenes. Current year, with the city expansion and the soar of the housing price, construction companies and estate agencies are fading out from the urban area but in to the suburban districts for the sake of greedily continuing to capture territories for carrying out their business. With media molding and promoting, there are more and more residential products named after the world powers, international cosmopolitans or tourist attractions. In addition with the manipulating and catalysing by the machine of spectacle, the ambience eventually makes viewers to be carried away, as if living inside is just equivalent to possess the environment that signified by the name of the products.
The project Spectacular Agency―Unreal Estate takes field survey as approach to inquire several zones of land readjustment around inner and outer Taipei, and by means of camera shooting to collect and record the construction cases with exotic titles. Selected photos will integrate relative information like real locations and funny slogans into a travel-guide-like smartphone application and which will be free for everyone to download and utilise for the purpose of highlighting the serious issue from many a little into a mickle behind the playful phenomenon.
